This bike miraculously came together in just a couple days after I finished painting it last Thursday (a build like this with racks, fenders, wheelbuilding, dynamo wiring, etc. would normally take me 3 to 4 days). The plan was for John (the new owner) to get dropped off at my shop and ride the bike 150 miles back to his home on the Massachusetts/New York border. I was having incredible déjà vu when he mentioned this because 10 years ago, another customer from the same town did the exact same thing! I guess it’s a thing now. Haha! I rode with John about 10 miles out of town and then he was on his way solo. This has to be the ideal way to hand off a new bicycle…and one hell of a shakedown ride.
